Day 15, Sunday, July 8, 2007

Still raining this morning and we all slept in a little later than usual. Got on the road just after noon and went exploring. We can't seem to get lobster off our minds so we drove over 40 miles south of here to the coastal town of Wiscasset which boasts the best lobster roll in Maine at a little roadside shack called Red's Eats. It was a ridiculous long way to go but we were not disappointed. The order line was long and in all we waited almost 45 minutes before our rolls were ready. But what a feast! These rolls were near perfection. Just one fault - the lobster meat was cold, not warm as we had read. 45 minutes to get the food, 4.5 minutes to eat it and we were back on the road to Camden. Our rating: 9.0. Not perfection, but we may have to make our own to achieve it. We are going to try tomorrow or the next day.

Decided to just "get it done" and uploaded pictures today. Some were posted 2 or 3 days back so if you are checking daily you may want to review previously looked at pages. My date stamp on my camera keeps going back to a defalt setting so pay no attention to strange dates on pictures.

I'm super-jealous! This very pregnant woman could really use a lobster roll about now! (I'll need you to make me one when you get back, and I'm sure it will be perfect!) Be good, kids! Love, Mandy
