Day 23, Monday, July 16, 2007

Our last full day in the area, and what a beautiful day it was. Blue sky with a scattering of billowing clouds, temperature of 75, not too humid, slight breeze bringing in the smell of the ocean. We packed up the pups and lunch, and went into Acadia to hike. Hiked about 3 hours.

Stopped at a "dog friendly" beach on the way back to camp and let the kids swim in the ocean.

Cleaned up (the dogs and us) then Ellen and I went back to Bar Harbor for one final look. I read on the harbor while Ellen shopped a little more (she just can't help it). We went looking for a bar on the harbor(bar harbor) and found a great spot in one of the many hotels/resorts in town. We had, get this, a lobster pizza! It was fantastic! Tim and Dea, wish we would have found this place while you were here. Tomorrow, Tuesday, we leave for the Canadian border. We may cross or we may stay at a State Park on Cobscook Bay for a close up look at the 30-35 foot tides there. Here in Bar Harbor they are only 8-10 feet. That's it for now.

Wish we were still there! It was back to the old grind Monday! The pizza sounds great which Hotel? No baby yet but it has "dropped" we could see a big difference in 1 week. Safe travels and don't leave any "jourses" at the campground!
Love,
Sister Dea
