Day 25, Wednesday, July 18, 2007

Couldn't decide this morning where to go next. We did cross the border into Canada with no problems, but was told we had too much alcohol. Suggested next time we not bring so much with us or we might have to pay duty.

We left Cobscook SP headed for Fundy National Park, but after stopping at a visitors information station just inside Canada, we wanted to see a little town described as "Bar Harbor like but smaller". It is Saint Andrews, on the tip of a peninsula jutting out into the Bay of Fundy. We found a campground run by the Kiwanis Club that is right on the extreme tip of the peninsula and ocean on three sides. Only $27 per night with full hook-up's (water, electric, and sewer). That's cheap! But we know how they make money. $6.50 for a bundle of firewood, when it had been only $2.00 in Bar Harbor. And, they charge $2.00 to use their Internet connection.

We went into town to explore and ended up having dinner consisting of clam chowder, seafood chowder, fresh steamed mussels, beer, and boozy bread pudding.

Lots of rain so another early night.
