Day 26, Thursday, July 19, 2007

While we were in town yesterday we signed up for a whale watching cruise for this afternoon. Lots of fog today but cruise was still on when we called before driving to the harbor. We got there only to be told cruise was on hold pending the conditions changing for the better. We waited two hours and then cancelled. The cruise was finally going to go anyway, even with heavy fog, but we had already been gone two hours and adding another four hours for the cruise would mean the dogs would be left alone at least 6 or 7 hours. And we would not even see any of the coast on a day like today. We will have many more opportunities as we get further into the Atlantic Provinces and will wait for a clear day to whale watch. And, August and September are the prime months to see the whales up here anyway, so we hear.

So what do you do when it's raining, foggy, and don't want to be outside? That's right! We went to an Oyster bar for fresh Prince Edward Island oysters and beer! It turned out to be a whale of a day after all.
